The Tangletastic Challenge Wk12 | Tangled Thoughts – Flow

Week 12 of the Tangletastic Challenge is here and this time we are doing a Tangled Thoughts Challenge using the word Flow.

I cannot believe we are three months in already. Last week’s tiles were amazing. You can see them all in the Tangletastic Group, where we have a gallery for each theme, perfect for a spark of inspiration when you need it.

Here is a little peek:

This week is about pairing your tangling with a word or mindset focus. Tangled Thoughts is not about perfection. It is about creativity, reflection, and enjoying the process.

Flow does not come naturally to me. My brain runs at full speed, but when I tangle, everything gets quiet and I drop into a zen state. Zentangle has taught me to loosen up and trust the process.

Start with one pattern, then let the next pattern appear, and the next. As my friend Joanna Quincey says, 'Every tangle goes with every tangle'. When you remember that, everything gets easier.

Your challenge

Create a tile that takes you into a flow state.

Ways to explore the theme:

• Set a timer for 10 to 15 minutes and tangle without stopping. Notice when your mind wanders.

• Draw the same pattern three times. First quickly, then slowly, then at your natural pace.

• Choose a pattern you know really well and allow your hand to take over.

• Tangle somewhere different. A cafe, your sofa, the garden. See how the shift changes the experience.

  
  

You can use any tile size or surface you like. Let the theme guide the choices on your tile.

If you like journalling, take a moment afterwards to write down what flow feels like, and how you might invite more of it into your tangling or your day.
