The Tangletastic Challenge Wk 25 | Zentangle - Tangled Thoughts

Hello, Tanglers! 🎉

It's Week 25 of the Tangletastic Challenge✨

This week, we're exploring tangling with a thought prompt of Self-Compassion.

Tangled Thoughts invites you to pair your tangling with a focus word or mindset theme, letting your pen explore the idea as your tile unfolds.

Here are three ways you might explore Self-Compassion this week:

  • Slow and gentle tangling - Choose soft, flowing patterns and draw them slowly. Notice your breathing and allow your lines to be imperfect. The practice is about being kind to yourself, not creating a perfect tile.

  • Create a kindness tile - Think of one supportive phrase you would say to a friend who is struggling. Let that thought guide your tile as you tangle around it with calming patterns.

  • Release perfection - If a line goes a little wobbly, simply aura it or work with it instead of correcting it. This week is about accepting what appears on the tile and letting it become part of the design. 👑👠👠

Here's what Pauline (Herbert) and Chris (Govan) created:

Pauline said: "I tangled just for me, in between projects. The tile contains many mistakes, where hatching goes the wrong way, or squares are filled in where they shouldn't be. I'm happy just letting it be shown off within my 'better' tile collection".

Chris said, "Ginilli is a lovely tangle to do because you just go with the flow. Very calming."

Over to you!

Remember, the Tangletastic Challenge isn't a 'challenge' per se. It's meant to be a fun tangling 'challenge' to help you tangle more, so don't overthink it. It's all about playing. Your tiles can be as simple as a 2" x 2" square.

Once you've created your tile, please share it in the Tangletastic group and then add it to the relevant album in the group (our Tangle Gallery)

I can’t wait to see your tiles sparkle in the Tangle Gallery! 🌀👑

✨ Remember to stick to 'The Rules' ✨

  1. Tangle to the weekly prompt.

  2. Share your creation in my Tangletastic Facebook Group, and in the Tangle Gallery under the relevant prompt.

  3. Share it on Instagram using #TangletasticChallenge and #Ruby2Shoes, and remember to tag me @ruby2shoesdesign. 📸💖 Sharing on Facebook works too! 🌀👑 Link to my Tangletastic group - http://bit.ly/Tangletastic

  4. 💬 Share the Love: Comment on at least three other posts each week. This isn’t a competition. Every tangle is magical! See someone’s post without a comment? Please leave a little sparkle for them.

🌟 NB. While I’ll be cheering you all on, I won’t be commenting on every single post personally: The magic of this challenge is in us supporting one another as a community. 💖 I've been trying to keep up, but I know I've still missed a few people, so the more it grows, the harder it will be.

💌 Don't know what this is all about?! Full details here.

Come and join my Tangletastic group so you can join in.

Let’s do this together! 🎉👠✨

PPS. Did you know ... I've written a book!! It's a fabulous little book you can pop in your bag, ready to tangle at a moment's notice. Check it out here.
