MFT Color Challenge

I created this card for the latest MFT Color Challenge #159. These aren't my normal go-to colours, so it definitely challenged me to think outside of the box.

I decided to use the new Mini Meows set, and combine it with the new to me lip balm set. It was so much fun!

I've been meaning to get back into blogging about my cards for a while now, and this challenge was the perfect way to get started.

I started by colouring in the cute little kitty cats using my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens. I love their playful style. The colours I used for them were:

  • 096 Mid Gray

  • 075 Brick Beige

  • 901 Gray Tint

I then cut some yellow background paper using Heffy Doodles Metric Rectangles. It's an old one from Basic Grey I think. I used some lime green cardstock that I splattered with some watered down Zig in 044 Deep Green. (I just scribbled a bit onto an acrylic block, spritzed it with a bit of water, and then using a paintbrush I flicked the colour onto the green by sliding it across the block).

Using the lip balm dies, I created the hole for the lip balm and then cut the zipper die inside the card. I used a combination of these two videos to create the card, and then add the little piece of twine.

I stamped the sentiment from the Mini Meows set onto a piece of white cardstock, and used a simple banner die to cut it out, before adding on some green crystals either side to tie the colours together.

Finally, to keep in line with the challenge I attached the whole front panel to a piece of lavender cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous day :)
