Starting my imperfect 42-time adventure with ‘One Zentangle a Day’

A Crown, a Pen & a Tangle a Day (very ish). They say consistency is key, but I’m more interested in showing up with intention, grace, and a little Queen energy when it matters most.
So here I am, starting a creative journey through Beckah Krahula’s brilliant book, One Zentangle A Day. Not to become perfect. Not even to do it every day. But to rediscover the quiet power of pen to paper. Pattern by pattern. Spiral by spiral. 🌀
Even better? I’m not doing it alone. My hubby Ian, who loves Zentangle as much as I do, is joining me! He’s planning to train as a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) this autumn, so this is the perfect pre-adventure warm-up.
I’ll be sharing both of our interpretations from time to time—we’ve each got our own flavour of tangling, and it’s so fun to see how the same prompt can inspire something completely different.
The plan? To weave tangling into our days when we can, as a mindset and creativity practice. Life’s too wild to promise daily art (especially as we are in the middle of moving house), but I can promise presence. Curiosity. A little ink. And probably some smudges.
If you fancy joining in, you’ll want to grab the book. I won’t be breaking it down day-by-day because it’s so good, it deserves to be explored firsthand. You can find it here on Amazon*.Just a heads up: that’s an affiliate link, which means if you buy through it, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
So… want to tangle along? Let’s ditch the pressure and pick up our pens.
Let the inky fun begin 💫 I'll be back tomorrow with my first post.
