The Tangletastic Challenge Wk 21 | Tangling & Thoughts

Hello, Tanglers! 🎉

It's Week 21 of the Tangletastic Challenge✨

I managed to see some snowdrops on Friday, which made my day. I even made it out to lunch with one of my good friends, which felt monumental after being indoors for a couple of weeks!

Anyway, it's Monday, and it's time for a challenge.

This week, we are working with Tangled Thoughts. The word for this week is 'Intention'. Choose a word for your year and tangle it into being. The idea is to have a word as a prompt and keep it in mind as you draw. That's it. You get to play with whatever tangles, tiles and supplies you like!

Here's a few ways you could explore it:

  • Choose one word that represents your intention right now (calm, focus, trust, ease, courage) and tangle around it.

  • Write your intention lightly in pencil in the background, then tangle over it so it becomes a hidden message. (This is what Pauline has done)

  • Create a border tile, where each section represents part of your intention (for example, rest, creativity, confidence, connection).

  • Make it a mini ritual. Set a timer, take three breaths, then begin with one slow, deliberate pattern.

Here's what Pauline (Herbert) & Chris (Govan) came up with:

Pauline says, 'For the word for my year, I've chosen 'Grow/Growth'. There are areas I need to develop, my local following and website being 2 most important to me'.

Chris said: 'My intention is to be bold and have the courage to embrace change.'

Remember, the Tangletastic Challenge isn't a 'challenge' per se. It's meant to be a fun tangling 'challenge' to help you tangle more, so don't overthink it. It's all about playing. Your tiles can be as simple as a 2" x 2" square.

Once you've created your tile, please share it in the Tangletastic group and then add it to the relevant album in the group (our Tangle Gallery)

I can’t wait to see your tiles sparkle in the Tangle Gallery! 🌀👑

✨ Remember to stick to 'The Rules' ✨

  1. Tangle to the weekly prompt.

  2. Share your creation in my Tangletastic Facebook Group, and in the Tangle Gallery under the relevant prompt.

  3. Share it on Instagram using #TangletasticChallenge and #Ruby2Shoes, and remember to tag me @ruby2shoesdesign. 📸💖 Sharing on Facebook works too! 🌀👑 Link to my Tangletastic group - http://bit.ly/Tangletastic

  4. 💬 Share the Love: Comment on at least three other posts each week. This isn’t a competition. Every tangle is magical! See someone’s post without a comment? Please leave a little sparkle for them.

🌟 NB. While I’ll be cheering you all on, I won’t be commenting on every single post personally: The magic of this challenge is in us supporting one another as a community. 💖 I've been trying to keep up, but I know I've still missed a few people, so the more it grows, the harder it will be.

💌 Don't know what this is all about?! Full details here.

Come and join my Tangletastic group so you can join in.

Let’s do this together! 🎉👠✨

PS. Did you know ... I've written a book!! It's a fabulous little book you can pop in your bag, ready to tangle at a moment's notice. Check it out here.
