Turnabout Butterfly

I absolutely love challenges. They really help me to come up with new designs. Today I decided to make a card for the CAS Colours & Sketches Double Challenge, and combine it with the Anything Goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp. The only thing is, after using the colours from CAS I realised that my card is not Clean and Simple. I'm meant to have white space. It's like being back at school - Read the question Ruby haha! Oh well! I will still share it in the CAS challenge, as they inspired my colours.

Here's how I made the card.

I started by choosing inks to match the colours listed. I went for the following Altenew Mini Ink Cube colours: Sea Breeze, Turquoise, Orange Cream and the Vanilla cream for the neutral.

I then got out my Concord & 9th Lovely Blossoms Turnabout stamp and created the 'background paper' that I stuck to a white card base.

I die cut a blue strip of cardstock for the banner that I adhered to the patterned paper. The banner is from the Concord & 9th Triple Step Blooming Heart die. One of my absolute favourite sets at the moment. I will share some of the heart things I've been making over the next few days. SO much fun!

Using my Stix Wonky Circle STAX Die-Namics I cut out some vellum in a large circle, and then cut a smaller circle in orange cardstock. By adding the orange circle I was able to hide the glue so that it wouldn't show through the vellum.

I then die cut the two dies, 'Thank' and 'You' from the Concord & 9th Stitched Bloom die set, which I stuck onto white paper so that they would stand out against the background paper.

I created the butterfly using the MFT Brilliant Butterflies stamp and die set. I LOVE those butterflies. They were on my wish list forever. MFT has just bought out another set of them now. Of course, I 'need' them now too haha. I attached the butterfly onto the circles using pop dots.

To finish the card I simply added a few 'Bubbles' jewels from Little Things and sparkled up the butterfly with some clear Wink of Stella.
